The International Black Sea University (IBSU) was established in 1995 in Tbilisi, Georgia, and was inaugurated by the second President of Georgia, Eduard Shevardnadze, and the former Prime Minister of Turkey, Tansu Çiller, according to a decree from the Cabinet and an opening license granted by the Ministry of Education in Georgia.
The International Black Sea University aims to train Georgian and foreign students in scientific, technical, and professional fields of study, and to utilize this education in pure and applied research to contribute to the economic and social needs of Georgia and other countries.
The languages of instruction are English and Georgian.
