The Tbilisi Medical Academy was founded in 1992 by the prestigious Georgian physician, pediatric surgeon Peter Chottadze, after graduating from the State Medical University of Tbilisi in 1970, his activities in doctoral, scientific and academic were associated with the Tbilisi Higher Education Institute of Physicians, where he went from graduate student to head of pediatric surgery and rector.
In 1999, after Dr. Chottadze’s death, the name of the Tbilisi Medical Academy was changed to Peter Chottadzi Medical Academy. Since its founding, TMA has grown with more than 1,700 graduates who successfully work in Georgia’s leading hospitals, universities and international scientific centers.
